A few weeks ago I responded with some tips related to experiences I had with successful 'giveaways' in the Readers' Favorite Forum online. This afternoon, I got this email from ReadersFavorite.com:

Congratulations, you have won the Readers' Favorite Forum Best Tip Contest! As a thank you for your wonderful tips we can offer you a free 5 Express Review package ($199 value) or entry into our contest with up to 4 categories ($304 value)! You can have either prize and you can use it for any book you like. Just let me know what works best for you. Sincerely, James Ventrillo

I responded with deep gratitude and suggested that since I just entered my book, Loving to be WE, in the RF contest in 4 categories, on June 1, I'd like to use the prize money for those entries. They agreed and are refunding my $304!! Life is Good.

I'm Back with Great News

Ahh, I see that it's been more than three years since I last wrote on this blog. I've been writing, but I haven't been sharing my experiences and thoughts here. It's my intention to become a regular blogger; we'll see how it goes. Much of my writing has been as Editor of FunTimes Magazine, Celebrating the African and Caribbean Diaspora. It's a 100-page, colorful, classy publication that features many of its articles online and through Facebook and Instagram. Do check it out!

If that's not enough great news, there's more! I've finished writing my memoir, Loving to be WE, focusing on my amazing 'Jamaican Journey' for the past 23 years. I submitted it to be reviewed at the website Readersfavorite.com and received the highest 5-star rating. My main confidant and supporter throughout my 'Journey,' Dr. Wendy Crawford, a university sociology professor and author in Grenada, wrote the thought-provoking forward. Seven others, I'm honored to call friends, drew upon their extensive expertise to share engaging reviews as well. I've now entered my manuscript into the Readersfavorite competition. Stay tuned ... the results will be announced September 1. I expect to publish by then.

Dear Cherished Friends
I’m excited to be working with Powerful You Publishing who are providing many venues for me to dialogue with you about how to help our bodies (minds and souls) to keep us healthy and Living Life Fulltime. The inspiring
book is being published March 20 on Amazon.com – it’s sure to be a best seller!

My part is sharing how I became a miracle and how you can too! (The main miracle I'm talking about - is getting rid of stage 4 cancer in less than 4 months!)

Let's talk soon.

Hi Cherished Friends,
I've missed you - Now I feel a new meaning to 'I'm glad to be back here - with you!". A year ago December (2012) I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer all over my lungs, uterus and liver. Now I'm an energetic grateful miracle who looks and feels better than ever. I tease myself that I'm getting vain looking in the mirror at my new size 4 look.  I've shed 60 lbs and the category of 'morbidly obese' and once my hair grew back in - its a pretty curly silver so I've tossed the dark brown dye!

There's so much I'm looking forward to sharing with you and any friends and acquaintances who are interested in improving their health, tolerating chemo or radiation, or regaining their health. I'm excited to be a part of a new book entitled 'Pathways to Vibrant Health and Wellbeing" to be published as a best seller March 20, 2014. So stay tuned. Do let me know any questions or suggestions you have.
Living Life Fulltime,
Chia Cheri

You are a Flute

"When you work you are a flute through whose heart the whispering of the hours turns
to music...And what is it to work with love? It is to weave the cloth with
threads drawn from your heart, even as if your beloved were to wear that
cloth..." Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

Be blessed  as we enter into the the Season of Gratitude and Giving. May you all
enjoy the holidays! Thank you Celia from the Heartcentered Wellness Center in King of Prussia.

This blog started with a friend sending me this inspiring quote: Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” – Oprah Winfrey

As I was forwarding it to some friends I thought this quote could use a bit of clarification so we're not thinking it means 'we're just settling for what life has flung our way.' So I modified it like this: I've found that when we're thankful for what we have which is what we have asked for, and keep open to receive - we’re are blessed even more. When we focus on lack, there is never enough.

We were born with freedom of choice and the ability to co-create our lives. Our thoughts become things. What we think about is what we get. Co-creating our lives involves three steps: asking (that's up to us), answering (that is our Source Energy's response) and receiving (again that's up to us to not block the receipt of what we asked for with thoughts of 'lack' or unworthiness). Many times we may think we are asking for what we desire and in reality our thoughts are based more on the lack of, or not having what would make us happy. There may be a fine line between one type of thought and another. The main way to know which we are doing is again based on how good we feel when we're asking and being in a state of receiving.
The basis of life is freedom, the result of life is expansion and the purpose of life is joy! Thanks Esther and Jerry Hicks for your book, Ask and It Is Given.

Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherish?

Now where did that come from!  In finding my voice to introduce myself to you, I thought about being raised on a farm in Kansas surrounded by love and cherry trees. My parents named me Cheri Lane after their favorite song called ‘Cherry Blossom Lane.’ The song ends with the phrase ‘there’d be no rain in Cherry Blossom Lane, if you were there to tell me that you care.’ Later, give yourself a treat and listen on the link below to Gracie Fields sing her version in 1937.
My parents Grace and Albion Avery, decided to give my name a French spelling C-h-e-r-i, which can translate to beloved or cherish. I love my name and it makes me feel joyful and unique.
Thinking about my name inspired me think more about love and joy, and it came to me that ‘Life is just a bowl of cherries’, another great song that urges us to live and laugh with it all.
With just a fun twist I changed the fruit to the sweet delicious fruition that comes from love or ‘cherish’. Thus we have ‘Life is just a bowl of Cherish!’ Now I’ve come to the understanding that our life’s purpose is to first cherish ourselves and live our truth that is uniquely ours. Then as we cherish life, it happens that we brighten others lives too.
To the world you might be just one person but to one person you might just be the world! That’s because each of us bring to our encounters our unique wisdom gained from our life’s accumulation of experiences that is unlike any others. From this our unique voice then can speak to others in ways they have not heard from anyone else.
Each voice contains nuggets of wisdom that create a fuller world, expanding the diversity of creative possibilities. As you read the Art and Science of Success, travel on a DreamTrip, savor the site’s amazing resources, come to our Topaz Dream Palace in Jamaica, join us in bringing fun, freedom and fulfillment to the world, live your life, dancing and listening to your music - do share insights and joy with us in your own special unique voice.

Blessings and One Love.

Holding you in the Light,

Cheri
